7:20am Friday 19th October 2012 in News
A FORMER Baxter College pupil made it to the final of a nationwide competition to design a perfect party dress on ITV’s This Morning.
Kelly-Anne Weaver, of Kidderminster, was placed in the top three designers with her red party dress out of 500 competition entries.
The 19-year-old is studying fashion at Birmingham City University and as a result of the competition, has been offered work experience at John Lewis headquarters.
Miss Weaver’s dress design was made, put on a catwalk in front of John Lewis designers and displayed in the window of the store in Oxford Street in London.
This Morning camera crews filmed at Miss Weaver’s home in Mill Street as well as a nearby cafe, Truly Scrumptious.
The final vote took place online with the public choosing their favourite and the winner was announced on the show last Thursday.
Whilst at the studio, Miss Weaver also had the chance to meet Sir Roger Moore.
Her mother Tracy Weaver said: “I, like all her family and friends are so proud of Kelly-Anne. She did so well to get into the final and she will always be our winner. It was a beautiful dress and she enjoyed the whole experience.”
