To infinity and beyond for Cleobury Mortimer's MP as he meets Buzz

Boldly gone: Philip Dunne, left with Buzz Aldrin. Boldly gone: Philip Dunne, left with Buzz Aldrin.

CLEOBURY Mortimer’s MP had an out-of-this-world experience when he came face to face with the second man to walk on the Moon.

Conservative Philip Dunne, who represents the Ludlow constituency at Westminster, met US Astronaut Buzz Aldrin in his capacity as Defence Minister responsible for space security.

Mr Aldrin was in London advancing the cause for continued human space exploration, for which he is seeking to establish international support.

Mr Dunne said: “It was a fascinating opportunity to meet the second man to have walked on the Moon and to hear his thoughts about how expanding our knowledge of space can improve life here on Earth.

“The UK plays a significant part in the space industry, with innovation and development of satellite communications and technology taking place across Britain.”
