THE Bramble Appeal has been given another helping hand following a donation of wood.
Thomas Vale donated the wood, which will help the historic canal boat stay watertight during the winter months. The construction firm also donated materials worth more then £1,000 to the appeal earlier this year.
Sarah Lange, manager of Stourport Forward, which owns the boat, said: “This has been yet another helping hand from Thomas Vale, who have supported the project from the very start. The wood will be used to box in the hold ensuring the boat is watertight over the winter.”
Bramble volunteer Jim Amos added: “The wood will be a great help and is perfect timing, as a new volunteer has come forward to help with the work.
“We could still do with a few more volunteers so please don’t be shy about coming forward to help.”
The Bramble Appeal hopes to raise £7,000 to restore the vessel so children and visitors to Stourport Canal Basins can learn from the heritage treasure
