STOURPORT-based MJC IT Solutions presented the proceeds of its annual golf tournament to the Foundation for Conductive Education at The National Institute of Conductive Education (NICE).

As MJC specialises in IT solutions for charities, the foundation has become both a valued customer through a full network development project and partner as MJC supports the dedicated organisation through ongoing sponsorship.

The golf tournament, held at Ombersely Golf Club, saw 20 MJC employees and customers compete in challenges such as nearest the pin and a putting competition.

Players were also charged an entry fee to be given a chance to win IT equipment, donated by an MJC supplier.

Grant Cosnett, of MJC, account manager for the Foundation for Conductive Education, said: “The £240 we raised at our annual golf tournament puts our total to over £3,000 raised through a variety of fund-raising activities, such as charity runs and gala dinners.

“After being one of our customers for several years, we see our partnership with the Foundation just going from strength to strength.”

The foundation, based at NICE in Moseley, Birmingham, teaches children and adults with physical disabilities, such as cerebral palsy, dyspraxia, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s, stroke and head injury, how to overcome their movement difficulties.

Fiona Walker, corporate and trust fund-raiser at the foundation, said: “We’re genuinely grateful for the help you and the team have given us.”

She added their generosity had “ensured that parents and disabled babies will continue to benefit from conductive education, helping them reach their full potential and lead confident and independent lives”.

NICE was opened in 1995 by Diana Princess of Wales and helps more than 1,000 adults and children a year.
