A DIRECTOR of a law firm with offices in Kidderminster, Stourport, Halesowen and Worcester reached new heights during a charity abseil.

The event took place at Portland Bill lighthouse in Dorset and raised funds for The Corporation of Trinity House which, as well as providing the UK with lighthouses and safe means of marine navigation, is also a charity dedicated to the safety, welfare and training of mariners.

Mark Pittaway, of Thursfields Solicitors, raised over £300 for the charity and along with others taking part in the event abseiled 135 feet - 45 metres - from the top of the lighthouse.

Mr Pittaway said: "I would like to thank all those who helped to organise this wonderful event.

"Not only did it challenge many of us to try something new and give us an opportunity that we are not likely to have again but it has also raised a great deal of money for a most worthy and underestimated cause."
