A WORCESTERSHIRE manufacturer and installer of design and technology equipment, has extended its reach in the Middle East.

Bromsgrove-based HME Technology has picked up further work in Abu Dhabi and broken into Dubai after receiving an order from the newly-opened Nord Anglia International School.

The firm has won a £122,000 contract to set up a workshop, supplying the latest technology, including 3D printers.

The new school joins 30 existing Nord Anglia Education schools providing education for more than 20,000 students around the world.

Julian Davis, managing director, said: “This is going to be one of the premier international schools in the region.

“One of the reasons we won it was because of our reputation for quality products and high health and safety standards. Our equipment is tried and tested in the UAE and our follow-up work is respected.

“We started in Abu Dhabi and word has spread. We are very pleased. Our export business is burgeoning and we want to grow it even more.”

The Abu Dhabi order for D&T equipment comes in at £42,000.

HME Technology has previously supplied equipment to Aldar Properties and the 1,300-pupil Al Bateen Secondary School.

Mr Davis said: “This latest order has been via a furniture company – however, we have been successfully operating in Abu Dhabi for five years.

“Influential people have seen our equipment in situ and decided they want that standard for their own schools.

“It is very encouraging indeed.”

Founded in 1984, HME Technology products include forges, brazing hearths, furnaces, welding tables, fume extraction systems, kilns, woodworking equipment, wood dust extraction systems, metal finishing and CNC machines.

It also supplies fume cupboards and ventilation systems for science departments.
