IN a bid to help people quit smoking a Lye shop is donating a proportion of its profits to the Dudley NHS Cancer Group.

E-cigarette firm Vapewise, based in High Street, is getting behind the national Stoptober campaign and encouraging the borough’s smokers to quit.

Muhibur Rahman, owner, said: “Cancer is something that affects us all, whether by developing cancer ourselves or because we know friends or family who have suffered.

“However, there are various ways to prevent it from happening. For example, lung cancer is caused by smoking 86 percent of the time, so one of the best ways to reduce the likelihood of developing it is by switching from traditional cigarettes to e-cigarettes.

“It is the perfect time for people to switch, and as an added incentive I have decided to donate a third of the sales I make on Saturday November 14 to the Dudley NHS Cancer Group.”
