PHILIP Dunne, MP for Ludlow, visited Genvolt, a high-tech supplier of high voltage electrical equipment in Highley, to see a successful exporter from Shropshire.

It was a follow-up to the Exporting for Growth Conference which Conservative Mr Dunne had helped to organise in Ludlow last month.

He said: “Genvolt is a gem of a company. It has been trading quietly in Highley for over a decade, supplying highly sophisticated electrical equipment to leading scientific establishments in the UK and overseas.

“A major part of its sales are exports. It provides high-quality manufacturing and electrical engineering design and jobs in the heart of Shropshire countryside. It is exactly this kind of company, using its unique technical skills, which is leading the export-led growth of our economy.”

Stuart Morgan, managing director of Genvolt, said: “It was a pleasure to welcome our local MP and local councillor to our premises in Highley.

“We have been trading here for several years and take pride in the quality of the high voltage equipment we supply to the leading scientific research establishments around the world.”
