OWNERS of fledgling businesses in the Wyre Forest area still have time to make a move that could open the gates to success and prosperity.

Entries for the Business Idol competition, being run by the Kidderminster Big Breakfast Club in association with the Shuttle/Times & News, are being accepted until tomorrow evening.

So the message is do it now. All you have to do to stand a chance of winning the £1,000 prize and over £2,500 worth of business help and advice, is the following:

Describe, in not more than 250 words, why you think your business has the potential for significant growth in the next 12 months.
Then e-mail it to Business Idol at p.ricketts@blueyonder.co.uk or, time being short, you could deliver it by hand to 351 Hurcott Road, Kidderminster, by tomorrow evening.
There are just two provisos. Your business must be based in the Wyre Forest area and you must not employ more than 20 people.

In fact, you might be just a one-man or one-woman business already making progress who would benefit from a little help to push it along.

Next week, members of the Big Breakfast Club will be assessing the entries and a selection will be invited to club meetings to explain their ideas further. Three finalists will then be chosen to attend a grand final in June.

The Big Breakfast Club is a lively group of business people who meet at 7am every Tuesday at La Brasserie restaurant in Lower Mill Street, Kidderminster to swap ideas, all aimed at improving each others' turnover and there's nothing stuffy about proceedings.

"We do good business but have fun at the same time," said club chairman, Robert Forsyth.

"Visitors are very welcome and if they like us and we like them they are invited to join. Unlike some of the big clubs, there are no joining fees and no paid staff. We all pay just £10 for our meal.

"We find our relaxed approach really works. Only last week, one member told us the club had resulted in bringing him in around £700,000 worth of business since he joined several years ago.

"There's nothing we would like better than to see more and more jobs being created in the Wyre Forest area. That's why we launched Business Idol. We also want more people to know about the Breakfast Club and the benefits it can bring."
