TRISTAN Quiney has seized the chance to enter our Business Idol competition, which offers free publicity and the chance for the founder of one of the new businesses set up in Wyre Forest to win £1,000 cash.

The aim is to find the most enterprising company with the best potential to grow. It is being run by the Big Breakfast Club in association with The Shuttle and Tristan is among the first to stake a claim.

Since leaving Stourport High School, he had worked for a big engineering concern, testing electrical appliances.

“Then, last year, I decided to start on my own,” said the 28-year-old, “I set up Midland P.A.T. Testing, based in Stourport, and began trading in January.”

He is fully qualified to test all moveable electric appliances so that businesses are assured they meet health and safety regulations.

“Business Idol seems to be just what I need to get my services better known,” he said, “If I win the £1,000, it will allow me to buy more testing equipment.”

The first Idol competition, staged last year, was such a success that this year it has been extended to include the Stourbridge area, with reports appearing in our sister paper, the Stourbridge News.

Entrants will also have the benefit of being mentioned on the two newspapers’ respective websites.

As well as the chance to win the cash, the winner will receive a year’s free membership of the Breakfast Club and be offered over £2,500 worth of business advice. Runners-up at a grand final, to be held in the summer, will receive three months’ membership.

The club is a group of businessmen and women, who meet at 7am every Tuesday at La Brasserie, Kidderminster, to swap ideas, contacts and contracts, while enjoying a good breakfast. There are no joining fees and they find that their relaxed approach works better than that of many larger breakfast clubs.
