Kidderminster College supports Fire Fighters Appeal
Fire Fighters from Kidderminster Fire Station join staff and students at Kidderminster College to launch the charity sale.
Fire Fighters from Kidderminster Fire Station join staff and students at Kidderminster College to launch the charity sale.

Kidderminster's Fire Fighters joined staff and students at Kidderminster College this morning to appeal for support of a joint fundraising event to be held on Saturday 26th January.

Kidderminster College will be opening its theatre to hold a special charity sale where staff and students will be manning stands to raise money for the Warwickshire Fire Fighters Families Fund and Kemp Hospice.

The college is urging members of the public to pop in and purchase something from the sale; goods will range from Books and Bric a Brac, to Plants and Refreshments, with all proceeds going to charity, what better place to spend half an hour mooching around on a Saturday?

Sue Price, Estates Manager at Kidderminster College said: "We wanted to do something to show our support and help raise money for a worthy cause, such as the Warwickshire Fire Fighters Families Fund after the recent tragedy and at the same time help the local Kemp Hospice . As people have always got so many old or unwanted presents lying around after Christmas we thought that this would be a ideal time to hold a table top sale and raise that much needed money."

Community Fire Safety Advisor, Caroline Webster added: "We are really grateful for the support of Kidderminster College, especially as the sale is being held at such a poignant time, only a day after the memorial service for those fire fighters who died, and we hope the people of Kidderminster will support the college in their efforts."

For anyone wishing to pop by, the Charity Sale will be taking place in the College Theatre at Kidderminster College, Market Street between 9.30 and 11.30 on Saturday 26th January.
