I CAN understand how Lindsay Turford feels after having her car wheel damaged by a pothole near the end of Wilden Lane (Shuttle/Times & News, April 24) , but quite right for the council NOT to pay her for it.

Asbestos danger is a timebomb

"UNEXPLODED bomb" would have been a more realistic heading for two stories this week. Asbestos fear'(Page 8) and Concerns over dangerous pile' (Page 9) do not address the seriousness of these two stories, especially the second.
