STYLISTS at a Kidderminster salon are celebrating after making it through to the final of a prestigious hairdressing competition.
Andrea Beers, 29 and Jade Howles, 21 beat off stiff competition from 39 other salons across the Midlands to clinch their places in the grand final of the L' oreal Professional Colour Trophy 2008.
At the Midlands final their live hairdressing skills were put under the spolight by a panel of top hairdressing judges, including David Lambert, who said: "There was an incredibly high standard of work across the competition floor at the Midlands regional final.
"It was clear that the competitors had paid a lot of attention to their model selection and the overall look on the catwalk was very impressive."
The team had just 30 minutes to style a winnning look under the brief "hair by fashion" and had to demonstrate an acute understanding of women's hair and fashion trends.
Salon owner, Andrea Beers, said: "It was a surreal feeling to hear our name called out. We've never entered the L'oreal Colour Trophy before so it's amazing to have achieved this success on our first attempt."
They will compete in the London final during a star studded live catwalk show, on June 2 at Earl's Court.
