WORCESTERSHIRE M.E. SUPPORT GROUP - All people with M.E., CFS and FMS, and their carers, friends and relatives, are welcome to attend meetings. They are held at Kidderminster Library, Market Street, on the third Wednesday of every month between 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

Far Forest

WI - A special birthday was celebrated. Business was completed and reminders given for the group meeting at Astley and the walk arranged by Far Forest's twin group at Malvern on May 6. The walk arranged for March 29 was a washout but a number of people took a leaflet and stayed for tea and cakes. It was agreed to run the same walk again on Saturday, May 10.

POUND THE BOUNDS - The eighth annual Pound the Bounds walks will take place on Sunday, May 4 starting from the Rock Cross Inn. There are walks of six,ten,15,18 and 25 miles and a three mile children's treasure hunt.

FIELD CLUB - The 80th birthday lunch will be held at Bodenham Arboretum on Tuesday at 12.30pm. Mayor Mike Shellie is the special guest. The cake will be cut by Mrs Heather Hobbs, vice president, who has 40 continuous years as a member and officer.

WI - The parish rooms were filled with visitors from Bentley Pauncefoot WI, who were welcomed by president June Homer. Included in the business section was June Gordon's account of the annual council meeting at Malvern.

WI - Members were updated on forthcoming activities, including the World Faith Visit on June 26, the walk around Evesham in July and August and a special trip to Denman College to celebrate its diamond anniversary in September.

FRIENDSHIP CENTRE - At the recent meeting, members were given a talk by Ken Durnell about the history of the Kidderminster and Stourport Electric Tramway, which ran from 1898 to 1929.

LICKHILL WI - President, Cherry Greaves, welcomed four visitors from Pumphouse WI, with whom Lickhill are twinned this year. The spring lunch at La Brasserie was a success. Lickhill have been asked to serve refreshments at the October council meeting at the Civic Centre, Stourport.

CYCLING CLUB - There are two rides this Sunday. The A ride starts at 9am and explores the Stratford-on-Avon Canal. The B ride starts at 9am and is car assisted to Evesham for the Blossom trail. Both rides leave from The Green, Blakebrook, opposite the hospital. All cyclists will be welcome and should bring a packed lunch.

TG - At the AGM in March, chairman Liz Pomford read a report giving a summary of all the activities held during the past year followed by an annual financial report given by treasurer Pauline Drake. Members of the committee all agreed to carry on for a further year with an invitation to anyone who wished to join them.
