DIVERS - On March 31, a trip to Stoney Cove in Leicestershire saw members taking the opportunity to check their equipment and skills ahead of a dive trip to the Farne Islands.
At the same event, Simon Cooper passed his open water assessment and became an elementary diver and Michael Nixon completed all skills to qualify as a club dive. A further five members are due to complete their basic training over the next few weeks.
Eleven club members braved chilly weather to dive the dramatic underwater topography of the Farne Islands in the company of the resident seal population, One of the youngest members, 16-year-old Kieran Dimmock, organised the trip.
With six further UK coastal trips planned for summer 2008, the club has a full calendar ahead.
