WI - At the April meeting reports were given on Paula Smith's coffee morning which had raised money for WI funds, the annual council meeting and Mollie Long's curry lunch which raised £300 for the Nandi Hills branch of the East African Women's League.
Members had also had tea at the Elms Hotel, and been to the NEC to the textiles exhibition.
The speaker was Dorothy Norman who spoke on out of India'. The talk was on traditional embroidery from three separate areas of India.
The embroidery involves symbolism and in some areas textiles equate to cultural identity and wealth.
The next meeting will be at Areley Kings Village Hall on Monday at 7.30pm when the resolutions for the national AGM will be discussed.
