FIREFIGHTERS answered a special call to Bewdley Primary School to talk to youngsters about fire safety.

Year five pupils were treated to a look inside the engine, viewed the fire and rescue equipment and were taught about what to do in the event of a blaze.

The children, aged nine and 10, are now putting together their own fire safety plan.

Teacher, Sarah Orme, said they "thoroughly enjoyed" the afternoon visit by the fire service and learned a lot about fire prevention, the dangers of fire and what to do if caught in a blazing building.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service makes regular visits to schools throughout Wyre Forest, spreading the message about fire safety.
