Baldwin family under spotlight

INFLUENTIAL Worcestershire family, the Baldwins, are the subject of a talk at the next meeting of Chaddesley Corbett Local History Society.

Pauline Annis will give an insight into the family, who rose to prominence in the iron foundry business in the 1780s and, a century and a half later, produced Prime Minister Stanley Baldwin.

Mrs Annis will illustrate her talk with photographs from the family album.

The group meets at the village hall on Tuesday, May 20 at 7.30pm.

There is a small admission charge for non-members.

For more information, call Trevor Kingsley-Curry on 01562 777407 or e-mail woodcotebothy @btinternet.com
