FIREFIGHTERS put out a fence fire in Kidderminster caused by a bonfire which had got out of control.
The incident happened in Summerhill Avenue at 10pm last night and three fence panels were destroyed.
Watch manager Mick Rowlands said: "The bonfire had been started in a bricked area but got of hand.
"Fortunately, we were able to extinquish the blaze before it reached his neighbour's caravan."
Earlier in the evening, Kidderminster crews spent two hours at the scene of a house fire in Chapel Street, Hagley.
A middle aged couple had returned to their home after a shopping trip at 8pm last night to find it ablaze.
The kitchen and bathroom were destroyed and there was also some smoke damage to a neighbouring house.
Watch manager Rowlands said: "It appears that the cooker had been inadvertently left on.
"The couple lost their two cats, who were their pride and joy, in the fire."
