Chime for a change in Bewdley

First published in Letters

REGARDING the letter from E Watkins (Shuttle, November 15), we feel exactly the same about the lack of chiming of the St Anne’s Church bells in Bewdley on Remembrance Sunday.

Why has this been stopped? I, too, remember Mr Davies from the electrical shop and his tannoy broadcasting of Big Ben from London.

This made sure the chiming was spot on in Bewdley.

As in other years, you cannot fault the turnout in the town and people need to be told why the bells are not chimed at 11am.

I say let the chimes return.
