Add our names to help preserve archive

WE would very much like to add our concerns over the possible loss of any of the extremely valuable archives at Kidderminster Library.

Even transfer to the Hive at Worcester would be a major loss to ‘local’ researchers, not just in Kidderminster, but also to those of us who live in the wider area of Wyre Forest and its periphery.

I can immediately add 10 or 15 fellow researchers who would add their names to the list of protesters The Shuttle mentioned in last week’s front page article. These come from the surrounding villages of Rock, Clows Top, Cleobury, Abberley, Hagley, Wolverley and here in Far Forest.

The five books produced over recent times here in Far Forest alone would not have been done without the invaluable information available via Kidderminster Library’s first floor archive facility.

It is time certain councillors remembered they were elected to serve the needs of the local people not their own egos.
