SINCE my last letter on the proposed housing development in Pearl Lane, Stourport, I have received a letter from Malvern Hill District Council regarding a revised plan involving a change of footpath!
I suppose they must have forgotten 120-plus major objections (including Wyre Forest district councillors) already submitted regarding flooding on the site.
Other objections were about how it will affect the traffic through Areley Kings and over our out-dated bridge, and how it will radically change the area as it is out of keeping with its present surroundings.
Was it not the Conservative Government that stated building would be blended tastefully with its surroundings? This application has gone from pillar to post, through several managers, and the closing date for objections has been moved several times.
Now Tesco want to build a shop in Areley Kings, after previously turning down the opportunity to come to the village due to the Londis store already being here. So what's changed their minds?
Perhaps the possibility of added housing in the area? Do they know something, we don't? Have we been led up the garden path on this one?
