I NOTE that planners are making their final decisions on several controversial schemes.
Let 's hope that even at the 11th hour they will abandon the proposal to close two swimming pools at the Glades and Stourport and replace them with one 25m pool in the new leisure centre.
What is needed in the new complex is a 50m Olympic pool, two 25m pools, plus a learner pool. This will at least go some way towards satisfying the requirements not only of the current 98,000 inhabitants of Wyre Forest, but also for the predicted increase in population.
The idea that one 25m pool will be sufficient shows a total lack of knowledge on the subject and is as ridiculous as building a health centre on Bewdley car park and only having one garden waste skip during the garden season at Stourport waste site.
Where have all the Wyre Forest future planners gone? Long time parted I suspect.
