I WOULD be interested to know what plans Kidderminster are making to commemorate the First World War soldiers and civilians during 1914-19.

My grandfather's cousin Joseph Francis Kimberlee is remembered on the memorial outside St Mary's Church.

My great great great grandfather was a carpet weaver, as were some of his forbears. Then one brother, my great great grandfather, left for Warwickshire (Coleshill) while the second brother stayed in Kidderminster.

His grandson, Athelston Kimberlee was involved in carpet design and liaised between Kidderminster and Toronto Carpets, Canada 1928-1930.

I have visited the new Carpet Museum which is a tribute to those who worked in the carpet industry and for all of us who remember ' Kidderminster Carpets for the World'.
