WE are writing to say thank you to the residents of Aggborough and Spennells for their overwhelming support of our recent petition to re-open the recycling entre at Hoobrook.

for use of the people of Wyre Forest.

We understand that some demolition needs to take place and the surrounding area needs to be safe to avoid any accidents but we have not been able to get any guarantee from the county council that the site will re-open after this work takes place.

There has been mention of the need for a business case being compiled and of consultation with residents about its future and at a recent Aggborough and Spennells PACT meeting there was mention of three or five options for the site but the whole response from the county seems very muddled.

We have asked if it would be possible for the facility to re-open during the “consultation period” as this would make sense but cannot seem to get a direct answer to this direct question so we assume this means no.

We have been surprised at the strength of feeling on this subject and will continue to campaign for the facility to re-open as we and residents know it is needed.
