IT was with much disgust that I read in The Shuttle that the directors of Kidderminster Harriers were contemplating pursuing Kath and Ernie Lane for investment funds promised under an agreement.

The Lanes have been fundraisers for the Harriers for many, many years. It is therefore a vile and disgusting way to treat a couple who have given so much over such a long time.

Furthermore, it is very surprising that the directors should take this action insofar as the club has had its most rewarding financial period probably in the club’s history.

The transfer fee the club received for Joe Lolley’s sale to Huddersfield Town and a very good FA Cup run have poured a lot of money into the club in the last season. It beggars belief that finances now should be so dire that the directors are turning on two of their own who have been longterm supporters and investors.

If the finances are so bad surely questions should be raised about the appropriation of the money that has rolled in over the last year or so.

Should the previous chairman and the existing directors explain how this cash has simply washed away?
