I THOUGHT that it must be a printing error when I read the new car parking charges for Wyre Forest which come into effect on October 1.
The current senior citizen season ticket for one year costs £72 and the new charge will be £151.25, this is an increase of over 100 percent. What have our councillors got against OAPs parking in the Wyre Forest?
There are some of us who just cannot get on a bus (and so use the free bus pass), and yet still are “ineligible” for a blue badge.
These are the fees for the last few years: 2013/14, £72
2012/13 £72
2011/12 £66.50
2010/11 £65 2009/10 £34.26
It would appear that this “concession” is being phased out!
