After reading the letter from Peter Smith of Redstone Lane, Stourport, I am confused. Firstly I would thank him for using the letters page of the Shuttle, because it is actually en titled”OPINION” which gives everyone the chance of expressing their views.

However he has got it slightly wrong when he accuses me of being a past member of most of the political parties.

I started my political career as an elected member of Stourport Town Council with Independent Community and Health Concern(ICHC) . I stayed with the party for approx 2 years, before moving to the Conservative party . I am and always have been a conservative , which is why I turned down the offer by the UKIP party to join them after their continuous efforts. This was confirmed by my email to the then leader of UKIP. Mr Smiths comments about Stourport directed at me personally was unjust. I can only suggest that Mr Smith contacts Wyre Forest district councillors representing Stourport ( Cllr John Holden is one) for a more positive response to his problems concerning our town. I would like to close my letter by saying that we all work together for the benefit of Stourport.

Kenneth Henderson Stourport town councillor.
