went into the well known national book retailer in Kidderminster on Monday to buy a book they were advertising in the newspapers.

I couldn’t find it so I asked and was told they were out of stock and would be in on Wednesday.

I went again on Wednesday to be told the delivery was being scanned and it would be on the shelves on Thursday or Friday.

On Friday I was told they were out of stock.

Not once was I asked for my contact details and told one would be put aside for me and I would be contacted when it was available.

I went onto Amazon on Friday evening, placed an order and the book was delivered on Sunday morning postage free.

The retailers should try adding customer service to their portfolio.
