THROUGH the courtesy of your paper, may I respond to Stourport Town Councillor, Ken Henderson’s letter on the health service.
I could not agree more with his comments on the health service but would like to remind him that it was his party that instigated the downgrading of our wonderful general hospital and it was the incoming Labour government which then implemented the proposals of the previous government.
If Kidderminster still had its own accident and emergency facility and over two hundred beds, Worcester Royal would not have been under such severe pressure.
The elderly are often blamed for causing problems in the NHS but it is the politicians and their lack of foresight and common sense which is the root cause of the problem.
