Well done to veterinary nurse Emma Purnell for campaigning to improve awareness of how to care for rabbits and to raise money for rabbit rescue groups (“Our bunnies are ‘misunderstood’”, Shuttle, January 29).
Far too many of these animals are being bred than there are good homes available for them.
That’s why it’s vitally important that anyone wishing to adopt a rabbit should get one from a rescue, rather than a breeder or pet shop.
People should also avoid either deliberately or negligently allowing their rabbits to breed.
Full information about rabbit care, rescues and how to support them is available on the RWA website at www.
