I’m not NHS staff, but became involved with ‘Betrayed By Her Trust’ after witnessing the devastating effect abusive treatment had on the lives of a dedicated nurse and her family.

‘The anonymous Union Staff Side representative seems very positive in their support for the Trust.

Surprising, given the recent national NHS staff survey had 20 per cent of this Trust’s staff saying they had been bullied by other staff in 2014.

Did that same representative actually speak or listen to any of those who consider themselves victims of inappropriate behaviour or bullying?

Since BBHT expanded to include other cases I’ve attended BBTT demonstrations and witnessed the support we receive from both current and ex-staff members.

I’ve also heard some shocking experiences of others who continue to ring to join the group.

Dedicated staff have endured months of abuse with little protest from the unions. It seems that, despite all the fine words, nobody any longer thinks that the employer has a duty of care to protect staff from harassment.

It appears that Staff Side, whilst obviously in touch with management, seem less in touch with those they are there to support and protect.

I’d love to be proved wrong.
