I am shocked and amazed that Kidderminster town centre is a truly baby unfriendly place. On visiting the town to buy a few baby essentials with my daughter and her 12-day-old son on April 9, after finding a cafe to feed him in, with quite unhelpful staff, we needed to use a changing facility.
We walked to the Swan centre only to find the baby-changing facility was out of order; we then walked round to the Roland Hill centre – the disabled toilet was also out of use, both sets of toilets were in a disgraceful state and unsuitable to change a young baby.
We resorted to standing in a corner of the Roland Hill centre and changing him in full view of passing shoppers.
The county council can spend all that money on new premises for their own comfort but can not spend a little on facilities for changing a baby’s nappy.
