I HAVE just read in the Shuttle that our council is considering using a compulsory purchase order to buy up Kidderminster Town Centre units to make way for new shops, cafés and restaurants.
Well I hope the council will secure the necessary funding this time before proceeding with this plan, because it wasn’t so long ago that the council spent a considerable amount of money compulsory purchasing a thriving business in Stourport to make way for (you’ve guessed it) new shops, cafés and restaurants.
I hope the residents of Kidderminster don’t end up with a town centre temporary car park that we in Stourport have ended up with.
