I AM in receipt of the latest Labour Areley Kings newsletter.
In bold print, it says: “We feature only those issues in which we have had direct involvement.”
This is absolute rubbish!
Their proposal for double yellow lines in Princess Way at the junction with Chesshire Avenue – we the Conservative team of Areley Kings & Riverside have spent over three years working on this issue . Labour proposes to take credit (although they last were involved in this in 1999 without any result).
The relocation of bus shelters due to redirecting of buses on Walshes Estate is another of our aims, Labour want to take credit.
The Labour group are intent on digging up grassed areas to create parking spaces, yet were instrumental in introducing a double bus parking bay used every two hours in Redstone Lane taking up the valuable parking spaces for 4 or 5 cars.
We have asked for this bus bay to be removed to recreate the original parking spaces. But County Council say that the bus bay is there to stay.
Maybe the Areley Kings Labour group are each looking to be awarded OBEs (other bodies’ efforts).
