WITH the closure of HSBC’s Bewdley Branch, the bank’s ethos stated on their website is pertinent. It states: “HSBC takes a business-focussed approach to sustainability, creating long-term customer relationships and investing in our communities.
“We recognise that we have responsibilities not only towards our customers, employees and shareholders but also to the countries and communities in which we operate.”
Clearly in the case of Bewdley this is not so – I suggest all Bewdley’s branch customers of HSBC show their displeasure by banking elsewhere.
The “use of the Bewdley branch has fallen significantly”
seems to be the only matter of significance to HSBC’s managers. Maybe a further loss of use will speak to HSBC too.
