IN ANSWER to Mr Harman’s letter in the Shuttle on January 7, he can rest assured that there is a monumental objection going on towards the council’s plan for the drastic reduction in size of Vale road car park, all to build just six houses, when there are umpteen more suitable and already vacant plots where many more than six houses could be built, in Stourport.
The planning committee meeting has already been deferred once, in the light of so many objections being submitted to the proposal by residents, businesses, tourists, the catholic church, visitors and friends of the owners of retirement apartments opposite the car park, and many others. These objections continue and there is no certainty at all that this ill thought out and outrageous plan will go ahead. To lose that valuable amenity for the residents and visitors of Stourport, for just six houses to be built on a totally unsuitable roadwould be an outrage.
We are determined it will not.
