AS a volunteer Community First Responder with the ambulance service one of the main problems I have is locating premises I have been sent to as many house numbers and names cannot be easily seen from the road particularly at night.
Could I therefore urge everyone to ensure that if possible house numbers and names can be seen from the road and if not consider putting them on a gate or wheelie bin.
After calling for an ambulance it would also be helpful if you left an outside light on at night and if possible stand in the doorwa as community first responders use their own cars so have no blue lights or sirens.
If you feel your house would be difficult to find you could consider switching on the hazard lights of your car.
