I WAS so disappointed to learn that the Arts Council has turned down Annette Jackson’s application for funding to set up Kidderminster Festival Orchestra.
Apparently the Arts Council does not think there would be support for such an orchestra in Kidderminster, so they will not even give us the chance.
Having read about the proposed orchestra when Annette Jackson received money from the Expression Fund through Wyre Forest District Council, I was thrilled that at last Kidderminster would get a professional orchestra, with quality musicians, led by a professional conductor/composer.
Once again Kidderminster is being ignored.
I just hope that some funding can be obtained from some other source, then Annette Jackson will prove the Arts Council wrong when she conducts a successful Kidderminster Festival Orchestra to packed houses.
