APART from all the political turmoil that is apparent at the moment, a couple of practical issues occurred to me whilst driving around Wyre Forest.

Firstly, the appalling state of many of our roads causes damage to cars and upset to many drivers and passengers.

Many of our roads are blighted by having either rubber, brick or asphalt speed bumps to slow down traffic.

Put down instead, ‘slow-down’ thick yellow lines as on the approach to motorways and other roads which has a better effect, or harsher red tarmac.

The bumps are appalling! They are injurious to health. Ask bus passengers, taxi drivers, lorry drivers, and others. I call on the county council to install this safer method!

Secondly, as a volunteer visitor to Kidderminster Hospital, I advocate the abolition of Parking Fees.

If the Acute Trust won’t accede to this request, then let them make regular donations from ticket fees to local charities.

I would suggest, to start, donations to our local Community Transport Wyre Forest and Dial a Ride who take those in need to various doctors, outpatients and hospital appointments as well as shopping and social events.
