PAUL Gittins suggests in his Changing Parties letter (September 15) that there should be a by-election in Bewdley for those councillors who have changed from the parties they represented when they were elected. I believe that councillors on town and parish councils should all be independent.
In their election blurb they could say who they vote for at General Elections but party politics at this level is irrelevant. The other issue that Paul Gittens does not mention is the cost to the public purse of unnecessary by-elections. Let’s spend the money on the town.
