I AM writing to apologise for sending you mis-information in my letter which you published on February 21 (Gilgal: Solution is courtesy).
I failed to follow one of the basic rules of journalism( ie check out the facts before committing to print.) I must have suffered some kind of aberration which caused me to see invisible road markings (Give Way markings at Vale Road) and as if that were not enough, I quoted from a Highway Code which I have since discovered is not the latest edition.
I am sure you will receive plenty of letters correcting my error, as has already happened on your website.
Could I ask you to take pity on me in my embarrassment? Would it be possible for you to print a brief apology for my mistake As I read my letter again, I think I can find one redeeming feature. That is, whatever road markings may be or not be at the Gilgal junction, driving with confidence and courtesy will still reduce driver frustration.
Having been an avid reader of The Shuttle for nearly 20 years, this is the first time I have written to you (a good thing you may think), and have made a real hash' of it.
