Scrap dealers are Sunday nuisance

IT’S 9.30am on Easter Sunday and I am enjoying the one day a week that we don’t have the crashing, banging and vibration from the scrapyard over the road (which wasn’t here when I moved in.) Some chance of my peace continuing as a scrap dealer comes in to the cul-de-sac sounding his hooter and shouting ‘any old iron’ on the loudspeaker.

I thought this was supposed to be stopping. We get at least one a day of these people.

One day my husband was tidying the garage and had put a few things on the drive whilst working. He came in for a cuppa and a scrap lorry came down the road and took my exercise bike under from our noses.

I chased them to no avail. Menaces.
