TWO men have been arrested following a road crash in Stone where a man in his late teens was killed.

It happened on a bend on the A448, Bromsgrove Road, at around 11.30pm last night and involved a Vauxhall Corsa and a Mitsubishi 3000 GT, which were travelling towards Kidderminster, and a Mercedes C200 which was being driven in the opposite direction.

The Corsa left the road and overturned on an embankment during the incident.

The man, in his late teens, who was a passenger in the Corsa was confirmed dead at the scene by paramedics.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find two cars that had been in a serious crash.

“One man was in traumatic cardiac arrest and received emergency treatment, including advanced life support. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of ambulance staff, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene."

The driver of the Corsa, a man in his 20s, suffered a serious shoulder injury and the driver of the Mitsubishi, a man in his 30s, suffered neck injuries.

Both were taken to the Worcestershire Royal Hospital with injuries but have since been discharged. A man driving the Mercedes was uninjured.

The collision led to the road being closed for several hours.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident and are currently being questioned by officers at Kidderminster Police Station.

PC Nick Warren from West Mercia Police's Force Operational Support Team, said today: "Tragically a young man has lost his life in this incident and our thoughts are with his family and friends.

"We are investigating the circumstances and it is important that we speak to anyone who either saw what happened or noticed any of the vehicles involved on the A448 before it happened.

"The smallest detail could be important to our inquiries so please call us as soon as possible if you know anything."

Witnesses are asked to call PC Warren on the non-emergency number 101, quoting the incident reference 319-N-211112.
