STILT walkers and jugglers will be in Kidderminster for a day of family fun tomorrow.

To kick things off Wyre Forest District Council’s Ranger Service and friends have organised Wildlife Around Town. Local residents will have the chance to find out what wildlife lives on their doorstep.

Green Santa will be giving children presents to help their local wildlife prosper and flourish. There will also be face painting and a fun wildlife quiz. The event starts in the Town Hall at 10am and finishes at noon. It is free for all visitors.

From 11am until 4pm there will be activities all around the town centre. Stilt walkers, jugglers and face painters will be entertaining shoppers and visitors.

There will also be performances throughout the day from Los Cumbancheros, a trio playing a variety of styles of popular music.

Conservative councillor Ian Hardiman, the district council’s cabinet member for community wellbeing, said: “With music, educational fun and lots of entertainment Kidderminster really is the place to be this Saturday.

“The council has made a big effort this festive season to provide weekly entertainment leading up to the special day. Local shops will benefit from larger crowds in the town and residents as well as visitors benefit from plenty of fun Christmas activity.”

The council is offering free parking over the festive season. Until January 13, 2013 parking will be free in all council-owned car parks after 4pm. In Kidderminster there is also free parking on Bromsgrove Street Car Park all day on Tuesdays and Saturdays until January 13.
