A STOURPORT woman has been recognised as a game changer for her ethical work at the Midcounties Co-operative.

Maxine Sharman, head of community engagement, was recognised by Business in the Community (BITC) at a ceremony in London.

She has worked for the Co-operative for 14 years and heads a team which creates charity partnerships, gives grants and organises volunteering activities.

Ms Sharman said: “I really do have the best job in the world. It’s great to be recognised for our community engagement as we are a co-operative which does business in a responsible and ethical way.

“We are all thrilled with the recognition and plan to build on what we have achieved so far, encouraging others to do the same.”

Business in the Community launched its game changer accolade this year to recognise the role that individuals play in business.
