Men robbed and threatened with stun gun in Kidderminster
10:53am Wednesday 2nd January 2013 in Local
TWO men were robbed and threatened with a stun gun as they walked home in Kidderminster.
The victims, aged 19 and 21, were walking in Worcester Road just before 2.25am last Friday and nearing the traffic island by the Sealine factory when they were confronted by two youths or young men coming in the opposite direction.
One of them produced what appeared to be a stun gun and threats were made before the victims handed over personal property, including their mobile phones and wallets.
Although they were unhurt, further threats were made, which led the victims to run from the scene along Stourport Road. It is not known where the offenders went.
Police also want to trace a man seen moments after the robbery with a shopping bag by the bus stop next to Brinton Park in Stourport Road. Officers are keen to find out what he might have seen as the victims ran past him.
Both robbers appeared to be aged between 17 and 19, were white and between 5ft and 6ins tall.
One had freckles on his face, a gap between his two front teeth and was slim, with an athletic build. He wore a white zip-up hooded top with the hood up. The other was wearing a dark, hooded top.
Det Con Iain Standing of Kidderminster CID said: “No violence was used but this is still a very serious offence.
“The victims were clearly frightened that the device shown to them would be used and threats to that effect were made, which is why they handed over their possessions.”
