A STOURPORT fundraiser has been rewarded for collecting £17,025 for Royal British Legion.

Darren Jaye, who served in the Armed Forces until 2004, has raised the funds through raffles, collecting for the poppy appeal and hosting activity evenings.

He was given a hamper by printer cartridge store Cartridge World after the company organised the competition to reward people for their hard work for worthwhile causes.

Mr Jaye was nominated by the community to receive the delivery from the Bromsgrove Cartridge World store but has chosen to raffle his prize to raise even more funds.

Justin Birch, of Cartridge World, said: “Hearing how much Darren dedicates to the Royal British Legion is really inspiring, so it was a pleasure to say thank you and give something back to someone who clearly dedicates their time to helping others.

“The fact that he’s donating his own reward to raise more money for the cause is an indication of his selfless effort.”

What a brilliant example to be setting. There are far too many who focus on themselves before others. The world would be a better place of the were more like you. Keep it up.
