Worcester passion plays call for budding actors

A CASTING call is taking place for anyone who would like to be involved in Worcester Cathedral’s Passion Mystery plays.

The plays, which will performed in April, tell the story of Jesus’ adult life, including the Passion and Resurrection and ends with the Last Judgement.

There are 60 roles to be filled and the Company of Friends wish to recruit people from Worcestershire who have the time and talent to take part.

The casting call will take place at the Chapter House in Worcester Cathedral on Thursday at 7pm.

Actor Laurence Aldridge, who is playing Jesus, and director Sheila Mander will host a workshop to help people to understand the way the production will be presented.

Budding actors do not need lots of experience to become a member of the company as talent, energy and commitment are more important.

The Passion Mystery Plays will be performed at Worcester Cathedral on Wednesday, April 10, Thursday, 11 and Friday, 12.
