A GROUP of cheeky actresses have helped boost research into leukaemia after stripping off Calendar Girls style.
Members of the Kidderminster Operartic and Dramatic Society (KODS) raised £1,933 for charity Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research when they posed nearly-nude for a tasteful calendar.
They decided to bare all for the charity after staging a production of theatre hit Calendar Girls at the Rose theatre, in Kidderminster.
The play is based on a true story of 11 Women’s Institute members who, 13 years ago, posed nude for a calendar to raise money for the blood cancer charity.
Salli Hunt, business manager of KODS, who designed the calendar, said: “The ladies were so brave, and with the addition of a touch of sherry, the dressing gowns came off and the final result was a wonderful set of photographs.”
The group sold 325 calendars to the audience during the run of the show in September.
